CRAIG Hignett has played for 10 professional clubs and only ever lost once on his debut – that was for Middlesbrough.
So when he makes his Boro bow in the BBC Tees commentary box tomorrow afternoon he’s hoping for better luck.
Hignett is the new voice of the station’s matchday coverage after replacing Gary Gill as the expert summariser.
He’ll take to the mic for the first time in his new role when Millwall visit the Riverside, and the former Boro and Pools schemer is looking for a winning start.
“It feels a little bit like making my debut again,” he laughed.
“You always want to get off to a good start in any job and this is no different.
“I remember my Boro debut all those years ago, we got beat 4-2 off Oldham.
“I think that was the only debut I’ve ever been beaten in, which isn’t a bad record given all the clubs I’ve had!
“I hope I’m not Boro’s bogey man though and we’ll soon find out tomorrow.”
