How the Championship promotion odds for Middlesbrough, Watford, Barnsley and Bournemouth have shifted

Middlesbrough boss Neil Warnock admitted this week that his side are unlikely to finish in the play-offs – yet the Teessiders have closed the gap to the top six.

Boro’s 2-0 win over Preston combined with Reading’s defeat at Birmingham means Boro are five points off sixth place with nine games remaining.

Warnock’s side will now prepare for this weekend’s trip to Millwall before the league takes a break for international fixtures later this month.

Boro will be looking to make it three wins in a row following victories over Stoke and Preston, which have given them momentum.

The Teessiders also have games against play-off rivals Bournemouth and Barnsley to come in April, which could alter the play-off picture.

Still, Warnock will know there is little margin for error if his side are to close the gap.

Here are the latest promotion odds from bookmakers SkyBet ahead of this weekend’s fixtures.
