Our Middlesbrough writer Joe Nicholson has picked his best starting XI of players who caught the eye in one off games against Boro, both at the Riverside and away from home. Scroll down and flick through the pages of our picture gallery to see who made the cut:
5. LB: Joe Bryan
Another attacking full-back who has chipped in with seven assists this season. Boro's wing-back system had been working well when they travelled to Fulham in January, yet Fulham's flankers nullified the threats of Djed Spence and Hayden Coulson. Photo: James Chance
6. CM: Mateusz Klich
I've also been hugely impressed with Kalvin Phillips this season, yet the holding midfielder didn't play in Leeds' game at the Riverside due to injury. Klich was man of the match in both games against Boro, working tirelessly and providing a goal threat from midfield. Photo: George Wood
7. CM: Lewis Travis
A player who has made big strides under Tony Mowbray. Travis was the heartbeat of Blackburn’s team this season and stood out in both meetings with Boro. The midfielder's energy and ability to sense danger was hugely impressive, while the 22-year-old also got on the scoresheet at the Riverside. Photo: Lewis Storey
8. RW: Andre Ayew
A player who has made 89 Premier League appearances, and it showed. The versatile forward has played on both flanks and through the middle this season, helping Swansea reach the play-offs with 15 goals and seven assists. Three of those goals came against Boro. Photo: Stu Forster
