Jonathan Woodgate reacts to Patrick Roberts loan signing from Manchester City
Middlesbrough have completed the signing of Manchester City winger Patrick Roberts on loan until the end of the season.
The 22-year-old winger finalised his move to the Riverside on Thursday evening after his previous loan spell at Norwich City was brought to an end.
Roberts made just three Premier League appearances for the Canaries but has previously impressed for Scottish champions Celtic.
The winger also played for Spanish side Girona last season and has represented England at every age group up to Under-20 level.
Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate told the club’s website: “It’s great Patrick has signed up for the club.
“He’s an exciting player, he wants to play games, and he has the bit between his teeth.
“He fits the mould of what we’re looking at. He’s young and hungry, and wants to do well.
“I’m absolutely delighted to have a player of Patrick’s calibre at this football club.”
