MIDDLESBROUGH boss Aitor Karanka is set to add the signing of Wigan Athletic midfielder Adam Forshaw to his squad.
The 23-year-old Liverpudlian is poised to be unveiled as a Boro player having spent time at the club’s Rockliffe Park training ground on Tuesday morning ahead of a £2m switch from the DW Stadium.
Forshaw, a central midfielder, has also played for Brentford - who Boro play away this weekend.
Karanka already has plenty of options in central midfield with the likes of Grant Leadbitter, Adam Clayton and Dean Whitehead competing for a midfield berth and Forshaw is set to sign a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Forshaw, who has scored one goal in 17 appearances this season for the Latics, should be available for Saturday’s trip to his former club at Griffin Park.
