Leicester City are the latest club to show an interest in Middlesbrough defender Ben Gibson, according to reports.

Gibson, 25, has been linked with several top flight clubs this summer after Boro failed to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

And according to the Mirror, Leicester City have entered the race for the centre back as they eye some defensive reinforcements.

The Foxes could be set to lose defender Harry Maguire, with his impressive performances at the World Cup drawing interest from Manchester United - who are reportedly lining-up a £65m swoop.

If such a deal does go through, then Leicester are set to up their interest in Gibson.

The Mirror claim that Gibson could be available for around £12m which would ensure he was a cost-effective replacement for Maguire.

Everton and Southampton have also shown an interest this summer, but are thought to have moved on to other targets.

Gibson made 50 appearances for Boro last season, scoring once.
