Middlesbrough will travel to Accrington Stanely as part of their preparations for the 2018/19 season.

Tony Pulis' side will travel to Stanley, who won the League Two title last season, on Saturday, July 21.

It is the first pre-season friendly that Boro have confirmed for their senior side as they gear up for the new Championship season after an unsuccessful tilt at promotion this year.

Middlesbrough have never visited the Wham Stadium, although their under-23 side did take on Stanley there in a Checkatrade Trophy clash.

But the two sides have plenty of history having met at the Riverside Stadium in cup competitions over recent years.

Stanley dumped Middlesbrough out of the Capital One Cup in 2013 before Boro then beat the Lancashire side in a 2017 FA Cup tie.
