The 21-year-old has made 19 SPL appearances for the Accies this season, yet reports in Scotland have claimed the centre-back will be recalled.

According to the Daily Record, Stubbs will be loaned out to Dutch side ADO Den Haag for the remainder of the season which will allow Boro to recoup more of his wages.

The move would see Stubbs link-up with former Newcastle boss Alan Pardew, who was appointed Den Haag’s new head coach earlier this month.

It’s been a difficult start to the season for Den Haag, with the side sitting 17th in the Eredivisie after 18 games.

Boro have also announced that striker Mitchell Curry has been recalled from his loan spell with Inverness Caledonian Thistle.

The 20-year-old forward scored twice in 15 appearances for the Scottish Championship side.
