The Telegraphare reporting that Tony Pulis is keen on a deal for the 21-year-old after he impressed on loan at Fulham last season.

Mainly used as a winger, Ojo made 22 appearances for the Cottagers last season and netted four times as the side secured promotion back to the Premier League.

But despite that impressive loan spell, the tricky attacker looks to be struggling to break into the first team at Anfield and could be one of several players sold by Jurgen Klopp this summer.

Boro are said to be joined by Reading and Wolfsburg in the hunt for Ojo, while Stoke City were also linked with a move earlier this summer.

A £15m price tag has reportedly been slapped on the England U21 international, who is renowned for his pace and skill.

And boss Pulis is set to rotate his squad ahead of a tough week, which sees two games in two days on Friday and Saturday.

"The ones who haven't started and put the work in [at Accrington], they'll be the ones who play against Rochdale so that they get at least 75 or 80 minutes," he said, speaking to the club's official website.

"With the two games on the Friday [versus Sunderland] and Saturday [at Hartlepool] there's another 80, 90 minutes which should stand them in good stead for the first game of the season."
