DIMI Konstantopoulous admits he cannot remember a tighter, more competitive season in the Championship than the current campaign.
Going into the weekend fixtures, four sides are level on 66 points - Bournemouth, Derby, Watford and Aitor Karanka’s Boro.
And former Hartlepool United stopper Konstantopoulous believes the table is testament to the strength of the league this season.
“I can’t remember it being this tight in any other season,” said the Greek keeper ahead of the home match against Ipswich Town.
“Obviously that shows how good this league is and how strong and ambitious the teams are.
“It’s pretty tight, but we’re in this position with 10 games to go against a few top teams and it’s going to be interesting.
“I think if someone told you at the start of the season by the middle of March you’d be joint top with 10 games to go you’d have taken it.
“We know we’re good enough to be top of the table and we are where we are because we’ve done well throughout the season.
“I don’t see any reason why we can’t continue that and show the same thing in the remaining games,” added Konstantopoulous, who was speaking to the club’s website.
