MIDDLESBROUGH have been handed a boost after it was confirmed Albert Adomah has been left out of the Ghana squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.
Adomah will now remain at the Riverside outfit in January and help maintain their promotion push to the Premier League.
A Boro statement said: “The club had received notification of the player’s call for Ghana’s provisional squad, which was due to meet up for training this week before the full squad was confirmed.
“But, in an announcement on Sunday, the Ghanaian FA revealed that coach Avram Grant had reduced his provisional squad from 31 to 26 and one of the players to miss out would be Albert.”
Despite Adomah’s omission, Boro will still be represented in the AFCON with Emilio Nsue part of the Equatorial Guinea squad.
The competition begins in Equatorial Guinea on January 17.
