The 21-year-old has been in fine form for the Teessiders this season and has started 18 of Boro’s 22 league games this season.

Tavernier signed a new three-and-half-year contract at the Riverside last year which will run until the summer of 2023.

According to TeamTalk, Boro have brushed off enquiries from top-flight clubs Everton, Leicester and Wolves for Tavernier, while Leeds have been credited with interest.

A move at this stage seems unlikely considering the positive atmosphere in the Boro camp and the player’s form this season.

Warnock said last month he doesn’t expect any outgoings during the January transfer window as he looks to sign another winger on loan.

Boro have been tracking Everton wideman Yannick Bolasie, a player they almost signed on loan in October but a deal wasn’t completed in time.

The 31-year-old looks set to leave Goodison Park this month and hasn’t played for the Toffees since 2018.

Bolasie wasn’t even included on the bench during Everton’s 2-1 FA Cup win over Rotherham on Saturday, despite manager Carlo Ancelotti making several changes.

Warnock revealed last month that Bolasie is still an option for Boro, yet the winger has said he’s assessing his long-term future after a frustrating lack of game time.

It’s also been claimed that Boro right-back Djed Spence is attracting interest from Premier League clubs, yet there has been speculation surrounding the player ever since his first-team debut in December 2019.
