MIDDLESBROUGH manager Tony Mowbray hopes to get the go-ahead to arrange a loan move for striker Ishmael Miller after Kris Boyd completed his move to Turkey over the weekend.
The West Brom forward is high on his hit list along with free agent Darren Carter – who was playing for Preston North End last season.
However, that depends on Steve Gibson giving the nod for Boro to make moves in the transfer market again, something Boyd’s move to Turkey should help to bring about.
It is understood Boro had an interest in former Newcastle United striker Marlon Harewood.
There was contact last month but, with the Teessiders unable to make moves until they shift their big earners, he went elsewhere.
