Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate still wants to sign another defender before the upcoming 11pm deadline, while Patrick Roberts’ injury setback may prompt the Teessiders to target another wide player. Woodgate didn’t rule out potential departures either – scroll down and flick through the pages to see nine players who could be set for late moves:
1. Britt Assombalonga - Out
It seems unlikely the striker will leave the Riverside before the 11pm deadline, yet his Championship record could attract interest. Leeds and Aston Villa were reportedly monitoring Assombalonga who also has other admirers. Photo: George Wood
2. Filip Benkovic - In
Another centre-back on Boro's radar. Benkovic will be allowed to leave Leicester on loan if the Foxes can sign a replacement. Derby, Bristol City and Celtic have also been linked with the 22-year-old. Photo: Michael Regan
3. Stephen Walker - Out
Boro will allow the youngster to leave on loan if the right offer is made. The 19-year-old striker has fallen down the pecking order in recent months following the arrival of Lukas Nmecha and Rudy Gestede's comeback from injury. Photo: Frank Reid
4. Ravel Morrison - In
Reports emerged yesterday linking Boro with the former Manchester United prospect. According to the Sun, Morrison will be offered a short-term deal at the Riverside after joining Sheffield United in the summer. The playmaker, 26, has made just one Premier League appearance for the Blades this season. Photo: George Wood
