'No disgrace in that performance': How Middlesbrough fans reacted to FA Cup defeat at Tottenham

After a terrible start to the third-round replay, which saw Giovani lo Celso and Erik Lamela put Spurs 2-0 up inside 15 minutes, Boro recovered to make a game of it in the second half.

George Saville pulled one back for the visitors seven minutes from time to set-up a nervy finish at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

@TomGordon97: Gutted to get knocked out the FA Cup tonight, mistakes cost us early on but I left the ground a proud boro fan knowing the lads gave it everything, we move on to Friday now and hopefully bounce back and keep the good run in the league going UTB!

@ChristianDarby9: Much better second half and was nice to at least celebrate a goal in the new stadium. Shame we gave away 2 sloppy goals early in the game. Stadium is unreal. Boro fans were awesome as always. Now for the loooong journey home.

@Matt_Rowney: It was never a 2-1 game but fair play to Woody and #Boro. After the poor start, it could have gotten ugly and become 4 or 5, but they stuck in there, grew into the game and could of equalised at the end. For a thin squad full of kids and players out of position that ain't bad.
