Ravel Morrison update with Middlesbrough closing in on Sheffield United playmaker
Middlesbrough appear to be closing in on a deal to sign Sheffield United playmaker Ravel Morrison.
The 26-year-old was linked with a move to the Riverside on Thursday, with Boro boss Jonathan Woodgate keen to add another attacker to his squad following Patrick Roberts’ hamstring injury.
According to James Shield, the Sheffield United correspondent at our sister title the Sheffield Star, the Morrison deal is close to being finalised.
Morrison only joined the Blades on a one-year deal at the start of the season but has made just one Premier League appearance since the move to Bramall Lane.
United were prepared to let Morrison leave on loan this month, yet the exact details of Boro’s move is unclear at this stage.
The Teessiders are also looking to sign another centre-back before today’s 11pm deadline, yet attempts to sign Burnley’s Ben Gibson and Leicester’s Filip Benkovic haven’t been straightforward.
