Clubs across the EFL will already be assessing potential targets for the 2021/22 campaign, while monitoring players who are nearing the end of their current contracts.
Most players’ futures are likely to be decided at the end of the season – when it is known what divisions their clubs will be competing in.
Others look set to depart, with a total of 168 players set to see their current deals lapse in the coming months.
There are plenty of talented players on that list too, including many who are fighting for Championship promotion with their current clubs, as well as players with international caps.
We’ve put together a starting XI of players who will be out of contract this summer after looking at every position.

7. CM: Jack Wilshere (Bournemouth)
The former England international, now 29, has been in and out of the side since returning to Bournemouth in January. His quality on the ball has always been clear to see.

8. RW: Junior Stanislas (Bournemouth)
A player who has helped Bournemouth get back into the play-off places in recent months. The versatile attacker has scored nine goals and provided five assists in the Championship this season.
