Warnock has often spoken about building around a core group of players in recent months, with the likes of Jonny Howson and Paddy McNair playing regularly during a congested and arduous campaign.
Others found minutes hard to come by at the Riverside and were sent out on loan in January to gain more first-team football.
Warnock will now allow his players to enjoy a rest period before the squad arrive for pre-season at the start of July, with several key men expected to return after missing the last few weeks of the season through injury.
Here we take a closer look at the players who played the most Championship minutes for Boro during the 2020/21 season.
1. Paddy McNair - 4090 minutes
The Northern Ireland international is the only outfield player who started every league game. McNair looked most comfortable in a back three and also impressed when he was moved into midfield. Photo: Alex Pantling
2. Marcus Bettinelli - 3690 minutes

3. Jonny Howson - 3619 minutes
Back in midfield after switching positions last term. Howson has been Boro's No 1 option in the holding midfield role and was made club captain in February. His performances tailed off a bit towards the end of the campaign. Photo: Stu Forster
4. Marc Bola - 3612 minutes
After being sent out to Blackpool on loan last season, the 23-year-old has become Boro's first-choice left back this season and performed consistently throughout the campaign. Photo: Alex Burstow
