Jonathan Woodgate’s side will face Rovers at the Riverside tomorrow, and will hope to have at least one new face in their ranks. But while the EFL transfer deadline is at 11pm this evening, any new signings will have to be registered long before that to play this Saturday.EFL rules state that “all paperwork relating to a transfer must be submitted to and approved by the governing body by 12 noon on the day prior to the date of such match”.

There are no changes to this rule on deadline day, which means Boro have until midday today to secure any new signings - otherwise they won’t be able to feature until the clash with Brentford on Saturday, February 8.
