THE first batch of Newcastle United and Sunderland games to be broadcast live on TV have been announced.
The Magpies’ opening weekend home clash against Premier League champions Manchester City will now take place on Sunday, August 17, at 4pm and be televised by Sky.
The satellite giant will also screen Sunderland’s first home league game of the 2014-15 campaign against Manchester United on Sunday, August 24, at the same time.
Other Newcastle United games to be screened live are Aston Villa (away) on Saturday, August 23, at 12.45pm (BT Sport); Stoke City (away) on Monday, September 29, at 8pm (Sky); Liverpool (home) on Saturday, November 1, at 12.45pm (BT Sport) and West Brom (away) on Sunday, November 9, at 1.30pm (Sky).
Two more Sunderland games to be changed for television are Crystal Palace (away) on Monday, November 3, at 8pm (Sky) and Chelsea (home) on Saturday, November 29, at 5.30pm (Sky).
Today’s fixture changes are up until the end of November, meaning the first derby clash on Saturday, December 20, at St James’s Park may still be screened live.
