ADAM Armstrong netted twice for Newcastle United in a behind-closed-doors game against Burnley this afternoon.

Loan signing Facundo Ferreyra and teenager Callum Roberts were also on target in a 4-1 win at the club’s training ground.

The game was staged to top up the fitness of a number of fringe players and give fit-again Ryan Taylor another run-out.

Taylor – who twice ruptured the cruciate ligament in his right knee – is back playing after more than two years on the sidelines.

The 30-year-old, fielded at right-back, played 70 minutes of the match.

Defender Remie Streete, expected to go out on loan this month, also played for Peter Beardsley’s side.
