NEWCASTLE United’s Under-18s kick-off their FA Youth Cup campaign with a daunting tie against Arsenal this evening.
Dave Watson’s side face the Gunners at Barnet’s Underhill Stadium (7pm kick-off).
Midfielder Steven Logan said: “Anything can happen – we’ve just got to go out there and battle. A lot of people are buzzing to be going down to play against Arsenal.”
Newcastle – who last won the competition in 1985 – reached the quarter-finals last season, where they were beaten by Blackburn Rovers on penalties at St James’s Park.
United will be without 17-year-old striker Adam Campbell, who is out until the New Year with a knee problem.
Newcastle’s Adam Armstrong and Kyle Cameron have withdrawn from the England Under-16s squad due to face Scotland at Burton on Thursday in the Victory Shield so they can face Arsenal.
