MATHIEU Debuchy will “suffer” during his three-match suspension – and so will Newcastle United.
Debuchy was sent off yesterday for a two-footed challenge on Claudio Yacob at The Hawthorns.
The 23-year-old will miss Saturday’s home FA Cup tie against Cardiff City, as well as the club’s Premier League games against Man City and West Ham.
The right-back had been the club’s form player and United manager Alan Pardew must now reshuffle what had been a settled back four.
“Mathieu has been our best player,” Pardew told SportMail.
“We are going to suffer and so will he. He will be a big miss.”
Debuchy won the ball, but both his feet left the pitch as he slid in on Yacob and Pardew felt referee Lee Mason had no option but to send off the France international.
“He played the ball fairly,” said Pardew. “He hasn’t gone in with any malicious intent.
“But you can’t take off with two feet, and we all know that.
“The sending off changed the game, unfortunately.”
