ALL’S well that ends well.
That is one way of looking at Newcastle United’s tour across the Atlantic.
A tour that has had its share of lows ended on a high in Ohio last night.
Alan Pardew’s side comfortably overcame Columbus Crew 3-0 on a balmy night in the US.
After the game, Pardew admitted he’d seen the good, the bad and the ugly on the club’s at-times troubled three-game tour.
The trip was dogged by visa problems before a ball was kicked and the injury suffered by Hatem Ben Arfa against Sporting Kansas City – and the problems with the pitch which surrounded the Orlando City fixture led to more negative headlines.
Yet at the Crew Stadium, the contrast could not have been greater to what had happened on the Florida Citrus Bowl’s artificial pitch three short days earlier.
