SUNDERLAND will host Stoke City in the third round of the Capital One Cup, while Newcastle United travel to Crystal Palace.

The Black Cats were handed a game at the Stadium of Light as their reward for beating Birmingham City 3-0 tonight.

It will see a return to Wearside for Phil Bardsley, who played such a vital role in Sunderland’s trip to Wembley in the same competition last season.

Newcastle, meanwhile, were drawn away at Palace – who they host in the Premier League on Saturday.

Middlesbrough must travel to Anfield to take on Liverpool, while MK Dons – who knocked Manchester United out in such spectacular fashion – host 2013 finalists Bradford, who beat Leeds tonight.
