Daryl Janmaat insists he made the right decision in joining Newcastle United - despite their season of struggle.
Janmaat swapped Feyenoord for Tyneside last summer in a £5.5million deal.

Having challenged for trophies in Holland, and played in the World Cup for Holland as they reached the semi-finals, last season’s fight against relegation wasn’t what the competitive full-back had in mind.
But he says he has no regrets about moving to Newcastle.
“I have enjoyed playing in the Premier League,” he said.
“This is where I want to be and signing for Newcastle was definitely the right decision.
“I have learnt a lot over the past year. I have played almost every game in the league and have really enjoyed it.”
Janmaat’s performances at right-back were one of the few positives to come out of the season for Newcastle.
The Dutch international was probably United’s most consistent performer, and showed leadership skills that have earmarked him as a future club captain.
The 25-year-old is confident in his ability and wants to keep improving - and pushing Newcastle on to better things under new manager Steve McClaren.
“I believe in myself and knew I could play at this level, so it wasn’t a surprise,” he added to the club website.
“I have great drive and knew I could be a good extra weapon on the right-hand side for Newcastle, but next season I want to improve and become an even better player.
“If I can do that, then I believe Newcastle can have a good season as well.”
