FABRICIO Coloccini is out of Newcastle United’s next three games.
The Gazette today reported that the club’s influential captain was facing several weeks on the sidelines with a calf problem.
And United manager Alan Pardew has confirmed that the defender won’t play again this month,
Coloccini could return against Chelsea at St James’s Park on December 6.
“Fabricio Coloccini will miss the next three games,” Pardew told the Evening Standard.
“He’s a terrific presence on the pitch, not only a leader of men but he has a great way of leading.
“He never looks ruffled, and gives that assurance to the team.
“In a pride of lions, he is the lion sitting on the hill looking over his brood, so losing him is going to be a blow.”
Coloccini suffered the injury in Newcastle’s last game, the 2-0 win over West Bromwich Albion.
The 32-year-old scored United’s second goal at The Hawthorns.
