Former Newcastle target Wanyama wanted by Liverpool and Southampton

CELTIC midfielder Victor Wanyama – once linked with a move to Newcastle United – is a target for Southampton and Liverpool, according to reports today.

The Premier League duo both want to sign the 21-year-old defensive midfielder Victor Wanyama, reports the Daily Mirror.

Wanyama was linked with a move to Newcastle United last summer, after the Kenyan made a massive impact in his first season at the Glasgow giants.

Manchester United and Arsenal have also been touted as possible future clubs for the Kenyan.

Meanwhile, former Newcastle striker Andy Carroll’s future is still unresolved, but West Ham midfielder Joe Cole, says the Hammers would love to keep the on-loan striker beyond the end of the season.

The 24-year-old’s deal with West Ham runs out at the end of the season, and the Metro report West Ham’s desire to keep hold of him.
