CHEIK Tiote and Ryan Taylor returned to training today ahead of Sunday’s visit of Liverpool.
The pair’s return will give Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew a welcome lift after captain Fabricio Coloccini was ruled out of the televised clash. Tiote has missed the last two games with a hamstring problem, while Taylor has been sidelined for three matches with a calf injury.
Influential midfielder Tiote will return to the starting XI alongside Yohan Cabaye.
And Taylor could line up at left-back, where Jonas Gutierrez, James Perch and Davide Santon have played in the last two games.
Assistant manager John Carver said: “They’re going to join in today which is good.
“It’s important we get as many of them back on the training pitch as possible during the run-in.”
Meanwhile, Perch is expected to replace Coloccini, who will miss the next two games with the hamstring problem he suffered last weekend.
