JONAS Gutierrez has delivered an emotional message to Newcastle United fans on Twitter.
Gutierrez made his long-awaited comeback earlier this month after being given the all-clear following treatment for cancer in Argentina.
The 31-year-old is hoping to stay at St James’s Park beyond the end of the season, when his contract runs out.
However, in an interview with Canal+, Gutierrez said he “won’t forgive” the club for the way he was treated after undergoing surgery in 2013.
Gutierrez claims he was told by Alan Pardew to find another club on his return to England after having a testicle removed in his native Argentina.
And Gutierrez today took to Twitter to thank fans for their “support and love” over the past few months.
He tweeted: “A club is not about a owner, a manager or a player, is about the fans and I proud about the fans of newcastle, thanks for the support and love, that is the most important (thing).”
Gutierrez is pushing for a start in the Wear-Tyne derby against Sunderland on April 5, having cone off the bench in the club’s last three games.
