KNEE BOTHER ... Papiss Demba Cisse.

PAPISS Demba Cisse will be “patched up” for Newcastle United’s visit to The Hawthorns.

The striker has been troubled by a knee problem in recent weeks.

And Cisse was taken off at the break against Liverpool last weekend as Newcastle manager Alan Pardew felt it was hampering him.

However, Pardew is hopeful Cisse will be fit to face West Bromwich Albion on Sunday.

“I just think that he has a knee at the moment that isn’t giving him full licence, and at this level you can’t do that,” said Pardew.

“We’ll hopefully patch him up, and get him out at West Brom.”

Cisse had been keen to play on against Liverpool, and Pardew admitted after the game that the pair had had a “disagreement”.

“He felt he was OK, but I didn’t think he was moving great,” said Pardew.

“It wasn’t about how he was playing.”
Cisse has scored four Premier League goals since returning from a six-month spell out with a fractured kneecap.
