THE future of ex-Newcastle United goalkeeper Shay Given could be resolved soon, while Liverpool and Manchester United look set to miss out on Ajax star Christian Eriksen.

Reports today suggest that English football’s two most successful clubs will lose the race for the 21-year-old Danish midfielder as he nears a £10m move to Borussia Dortmund.

Beaten Champions League finalists Dortmund see Eriksen as a replacement for Bayern Munich-bound Mariuo Gotze, according to talkSPORT.

Meanwhile, former Sunderland boss Steve Bruce could move for 37-year-old Aston Villa goalkeeper Shay Given, who is available for £1m.

The Daily Mirror reports Hull’s interest in the shot-stopper who made only nine appearances this season.
