THE futures of Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and Andy Carroll again dominate the headlines today.
The ongoing sagas involving the three players looks set to rumble on over the summer.
The Daily Mail reports that Real Madrid president Florentino Perez claims 28-year-old forward Ronaldo, who has been linked with a return to Manchester United, wants to commit his future to the Spanish club.
However, that could mean United turn to Robert Lewandowski. The Daily Telegraph say the forward, who helped Borussia Dortmund to back-to-back Bundesliga titles in 2010-11 and 2011-12, could be set for a shock move to the Premier League after Dortmund refused to sell him to Bayern Munich. The 24-year-old Poland striker has been strongly linked with Manchester United.
The Mail also reveal Real Madrid’s sporting director Zinedine Zidane says his club will have to break the world transfer record - which currently stands at £80m - to land Tottenham’s 23-year-old forward Bale.
And former Liverpool striker Robbie Fowler says in the Telegraph his old club should keep Carroll, a target of West Ham, as he believes the squad is short in terms of numbers.
