MANCHESTER clubs United and City are in the transfer news today.

Man United, fresh from a largely unproductive summer on the signings front, are already making plans for a January swoop.

The Daily Star says the Red Devils are plotting a £25m January move for Southampton defender Luke Shaw, 18.

Meanwhile, Manchester City are set to swoop for Gil Vicente defender Pecks, 20, during the January transfer window after the Portuguese-based Cape Verde player was recommended by one of their scouts, reports the Metro.

Elsewhere, Sunderland manager Paolo Di Canio says he sold playmaker Stephane Sessegnon, 29, to West Brom on transfer deadline day because his heart was no longer in the club.

The story, in the Daily Mail, backs up what the Gazette exclusively revealed last week.
