ALAN Pardew insists Sylvain Marveaux has NOT been frozen out at Newcastle United.
A report this week claimed the midfielder had been told to train with the club’s youth team.
Marveaux had only just forced his way back into contention after a five-month absence from the first-team squad.
The 27-year-old yesterday trained with the senior squad ahead of tomorrow’s home game against Aston Villa.
“He’s trained with us,” Pardew said.
Asked if Marveaux had been made to train with United’s Under-18s, Pardew added: “That wasn’t the case.”
Marveaux had come off the bench in Newcastle’s defeats to Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Sunderland.
However, the former Under-21 international’s future on Tyneside looks bleak.
And Marveaux, signed from Stade Rennais in the summer of 2011, could well be among the summer departures.
He is under contract at St James’s Park until 2016. Marveaux’s last league start came in August.
