ALAN Pardew has admitted Newcastle United’s new-look defence will face a major test against Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.
Mike Williamson and Paul Dummett are expected to be the central pairing for Newcastle, with Fabricio Coloccini out of the game and Steven Taylor a “big doubt”.
Remie Streete, from South Shields, could also be on the bench at St James’s Park as United face a strike pairing who have shown good form in recent weeks.
Pardew said: “(Bobby) Zamora and (Charlie) Austin have been a good combination for QPR.
“They have improved and will be tough, but we hope we can beat them.”
