FABRICIO Coloccini could make his comeback against Manchester United.
Newcastle United’s captain returned to training today after three weeks on the sidelines with a hamstring problem.
And manager Alan Pardew is debating whether to hand the defender a start in Wednesday night’s Capital One Cup tie at Old Trafford.
Cheik Tiote, meanwhile, made his comeback from a calf problem in yesterday’s 1-0 win over Norwich City.
However, the midfielder, out since the opening weekend of the season, looked rusty during his 15-minute cameo.
And Tiote could also feature against Man United.
“Colo could play, and Cheik definitely needs a game,” Pardew told the Gazette. “He was rusty, so I will have a word with the staff.”
United’s fixture calendar is congested enough as it is given the club’s Europa League campaign, but Pardew’s adamant his team will be going to Old Trafford to win.
“We’re going to have make sure we can get game time out of the players that will need it,” he said.
“Hopefully, we’ll get a result there.”
