Newcastle could miss out as West Brom speak to pair

CONTENDER? ... Tony Pulis.
CONTENDER? ... Tony Pulis.

WEST Bromwich Albion are in talks with Tim Sherwood and Tony Pulis about replacing Alan Irvine as the club’s manager, according to the BBC.

The pair are high on the list of contenders to replace Alan Pardew as Newcastle United boss, and are second and third favourite for the role respectively with the bookmakers.

However, it looks like West Brom have made the first move after they sacked Irvine last night.

According to Sky Sports, though, any move to the Hawthorns for Pulis may yet hit a stumbling block, with the former Stoke City and Crystal Palace boss wanting full control over transfers.
