NEWCASTLE United’s Kevin Mbabu hopes his Rangers career will be up and running within a fortnight.
The defender was one of five players loaned to the Scottish Championship club last week.
But the 19-year-old - who spent much of last season in the treatment room - only reported to Murray Park this week, as he has been sidelined with a groin injury.
However, Mbabu, signed from Swiss club Servette two years ago, is close to a comeback.
“I have a groin injury, and I’ve been out for about eight weeks now,” said Mbabu
“I’m hoping that I will be back taking part in training on Monday. I’m hopeful that I would be back ready and available for selection for the next weekend.
“I had a lot of different injuries last season, and it was frustrating for me.
“I had some problems with my hamstring, my ankle and also my groin. I had a lack of games last season, and I hope that I can get some minutes on the park during my loan here at Rangers.”
