NEWCASTLE United’s Nile Ranger has been given a chance to rebuild his career on loan at Barnsley.
The out-of-favour striker has joined the Championship club until January 14.
United manager Alan Pardew said: “Nile needs to go out on loan, and needs regular games, to help his development as a footballer.
“He has real talent. The time is right for him to go out and play and Barnsley have a very good player for a couple of months.”
Ranger - whose off-the-field discipline has been a concern to Pardew - is yet to make a first-team appearance for Newcastle this season.
The 20-year-old yesterday denied a number of assault charges at Newcastle magistrates.
As part of his bail conditions, he was banned from the city centre at night.
