Newcastle to compete with Stoke for Dutch ace, Man City may lose Kompany and Barca want Chelsea star

A RIVAL for the signature of one of Newcastle United’s main transfer targets has emerged today.

Dutch forward Luuk de Jong has long been a target for the Magpies, after they failed to sign him two seasons ago when he joined Borussia Monchengladbach instead.

But the Daily Mirror today reports that Stoke are plotting a January swoop for the 23-year-old, and manager Mark Hughes has not given up hope of getting a work permit for American forward Juan Agudelo, 21.
