NEWCASTLE United fans will get their first glimpse of new signing Ayoze Perez in a black and white jersey tonight.
The striker will make his debut in United’s pre-season fixture at Oldham Athletic (kick-off 7.30pm).
Perez joined the Magpies last month from Spanish second division side Tenerife.
The 20-year-old – who cost a reported £1.6m – had scored 16 goals in 34 league games last season.
Tonight’s game at Boundary Park could also see midfielder Jack Colback make his first appearance in a Newcastle shirt after his summer move from Sunderland.
Captain Fabricio Coloccini is expected to sit out the match although teenage striker Alan Armstrong is likely to feature.
“I want to play a few of our younger players,” United manager Alan Pardew told SportMail. “Certainly Arma will feature, as will Perez and Mehdi Abeid.
“I might have a look at them in this game. It’ll be a strong side with some stars.”
Abeid will make his first United appearance in almost a year after the midfielder spent last season on loan at Panathinaikos, who are looking to take him back to the Greek capital on a permanent deal.
“Mehdi did particularly well at Panathinaikos, and it’s only fair I look at him,” Pardew said.
“I didn’t get to see him play for them, but it looks like he’s progressed. He’s a lot stronger. He’s more experienced and we’ll see him in the Oldham game.”
Abeid, signed from Lens in the summer of 2011, struggled to make an impression on the first team in his first two seasons at St James’s Park.
He helped Panathinaikos win the Greek Cup and qualify for the Champions League.
Krul, meanwhile, won’t report back to United until early next month because of his involvement in Holland’s World Cup campaign, which only ended on Saturday with the Dutch squad landing at Rotterdam airport on Sunday afternoon.
Fellow keeper Rob Elliot, involved in the Republic of Ireland’s summer internationals, returned to training this week.
