FABRICIO Coloccini faces up to six weeks on the sidelines after limping off against West Bromwich Albion today.

The Toon skipper picked up a medial ligament injury in his knee in the second half of the 1-0 defeat at the Hawthorns.

And after the game, boss Alan Pardew confirmed the centre-half faces “four to six weeks” out with the problem which would rule him out of the Tyne-Wear derby on February 1.

To compound Newcastle’s problems, right-back Mathieu Debuchy will miss the next three games after his red card in the game.

Pardew said: “It has been a bad afternoon. Not only do we lose Debuchy but Colo also looks to have done something to his knee.

“It is early days but we could be looking at four to six weeks out.”
