YOHAN Cabaye and Fabricio Coloccini are out of Newcastle United’s game at Reading this afternoon.
Cabaye has an absess on his wisdom tooth which has become infected.
And Coloccini has failed a fitness test on the hamstring problem he suffered on international duty with Argentina earlier this month.
However, Coloccini’s fellow defender Danny Simpson, sidelined for almost a month with a hamstring injury, could return a week tomorrow at homec to his former club Manchester United.
The loss of captain Coloccini and influential midielder Cabaye is a blow to Pardew, who could hand Gael Bigirimana his full Premier League debut at the Madjeski Stadium, or call upon Dan Gosling or Haris Vuckic.
Coloccini will also miss Thursday night’s home Europa League group game against Bordeaux.
Pardew said: “Coloccini is sweating for Man United, I think, but Danny’s got a good chance for that game,”
“I think Cabaye might be OK for Thursday - him and Coloccini aren’t playing (against Reading).
“Cabaye has got an absess on his wisdem teeth and an infection that’s affecting his body a little bit.”
Meanwhile, Tim Krul is close to fitness.
But Pardew says he’s unlikely to play this side of next month’s international break and the goalkeeper could return against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on October 21.
