Newcastle United are on the verge of signing AS Roma striker Seydou Doumbia, according to reports.
The 28-year-old Ivory Coast international is said to be on Tyneside to have a medical ahead of a loan move, says TalkSport.
The striker made his name with BSC Young Boys in the Swiss Super League, which earned him a move to Russian club CSKA Moscow in 2010.
He scored 84 goals in 129 games for the club, helping them to two Russian league titles, but left for Italian side Roma in the January 2015 transfer window.
After managing just twice goals in 15 appearances for the Serie A side, he returned to CSKA on loan in August.
He has 11 goals in 21 games for CSKA this season, but looks set to join Newcastle for the rest of this season.
