HATEM Ben Arfa and Dan Gosling are sacrificing their summer holidays in a bid to get fit for the new campaign.
Ben Arfa missed the bulk of last season after suffering a horrific double leg break away to Manchester City in October.
And Gosling – who was recovering from a cruciate ligament injury when he signed from Everton last summer – made just one brief substitute’s appearance for Newcastle United in January before suffering a setback.
United manager Alan Pardew took the decision not to involve the midfield pair in the last couple of games.
The pair were instead told to focus on ensuring they were ready for July, when the club’s players report back for training.
Pardew’s assistant, John Carver, is confident they will be able to play a full part in pre-season.
