RYAN Taylor still has a point to prove at Newcastle United – and he’s determined to make an impression in pre-season.
Taylor made just three Premier League starts last season in an injury and suspension-hit campaign.
The 26-year-old had a long spell on the sidelines with an ankle injury.
And he also served a three-match ban after being sent off 50 minutes into his first appearance for Alan Pardew against Bolton Wanderers.
With Pardew looking to bring in several new faces this summer, Taylor will face even fiercer competition for a place in his side next term.
However, he’s confident he can be more than just a fringe player at St James’s Park, having ended the season in Pardew’s team.
