NEWCASTLE United farmed out a trio of young players before today’s loan deadline.

Brad Inman, Marcus Maddison and Michael Riley have been sent out to gain first-team experience.

Inman has been loaned to League Two side Crewe Alexandra for a month.

And winger Marcus Maddison and full-back Michael Riley have both signed for non-league club Blyth Spartans.

Inman – who has scored seven goals for United’s Under-21 side this season – talked of his keeness to get first-team experience under his belt earlier this month.

“Hopefully, I’ll go out on loan – I’ll learn a lot from it,” said the 20-year-old, who was born in Australia but has represented Scotland at Under-21 level.

Maddison, 19, and Riley have signed short-term loan deals with Blyth.

Meanwhile, midfielder Conor Newton, 21, is expected to follow full-back full-back Paul Dummett to St Mirren, with Newcastle, according to reports in Paisley, having signed an “affiliation” with the club.

Dummett, capped once by Wales at Under-21 level, has impressed in his six Scottish Premier League appearances.

The agreement will reportedly see a number of young players farmed out to St Mirren Park.
