ALAN Pardew says “something’s going on” at Newcastle United.
Pardew robustly defended his players after the club lost the Wear-Tyne derby.
And United’s manager feels his claim that there’s a spirit and togetherness in the dressing room was vindicated by last weekend’s 2-0 win over Chelsea.
The challenge for Newcastle is to build on that success against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane tomorrow.
“The most important thing is the group, and there’s a good spirit amongst the group,” Pardew said.
“I think the performance levels after the first half at Everton have been strong.
“I think we’ve been good entertainment value. We’ve not always had the results, but they will come, and we proved that against Chelsea.
“That wasn’t just something I was talking about – you can’t pull that out of the air.
“You can’t beat a team in form like they were – six wins on the trot in all competitions – unless you’ve got something going on, and we have.”
