NEWCASTLE United defender Curtis Good – currently on loan at Dundee United – has been ruled out for up to six weeks with a hip flexor strain.
Good suffered the injury while making his debut for Australia last Wednesday in a friendly against Ecuador.
According to the Dundee Courier, Newcastle’s medical staff have ruled him out for four to six weeks, meaning he now has a race to prove his fitness ahead of the summer’s World Cup.
The 20-year-old moved to the Scottish side in January after making just one senior appearance for Newcastle since joining in 2012.
He was an ever-present for Dundee United before the injury, and had been earning rave reviews.
The defender also enjoyed a successful loan spell last season, when he helped League Two Bradford City reach the Capital One Cup final.
